Freshmen
Here you can find useful information about being a teekkari or a new student in the Forest Products Guild.
The person responsible for the freshmen until Wappu 2008 is:
Tomas Blomberg
Master of Freshmen
Teekkarilakki (the white cap)
The teekkarilakki is one of the most visible things of a teekkari. The can is earned by getting to know the teekkari culture during the first year of studies. Practically this means participating in the guild’s happenings. The climax comes on the vappu eve, when the freshmen receive their brand new white caps. The teekkarilakki can be worn for the first time on the vappu day at 00:00. This is when a freshman becomes a teekkari.

Overalls (Fin. Haalarit)
This is another big characteristic of a teekkari, even though other schools have copied this tradition. The overalls give the feeling of being one big group as well as ease the job of finding your friends at big parties. Since there is only a limited range of colours and so many users, you cannot be a 100% certain that a person in yellow overalls is a member of our guild. The Forest Products Guild chooses a committee beginning of year to order the overalls, but you can (and should) customise your overalls with different patches. You can purchase patches from most guilds, parties, unions and clubs.
